Steve has been a professional gigging musician for over 30 years, working in television, radio, theatre and has toured the UK, Europe, Mexico and Japan. He has played with a diversity of artists such as William Bell, Zoot Money, Daniel
O´Donnell, Chris Jagger and The Foundations.
He is also an Associate Lecturer in Music Practice and currently teaches at Warwick University, has published 2 successful drum tutorial book/CDs and a DVD - is an experienced coach and teacher of drums and percussion, both privately and for local authorities.
Steve also runs independent drumming workshops, including the history of drums and drumming, playing kit and group Samba drumming. He also has much experience on the business and administration side of music making, which include managing his own band, promotion, publicity, successful arts grant applications, etc.
Over the years, he has studied many aspects of drumming and the music business:
• Trinity College, London - Music Practice Diploma (hons)
• Rock School – Drum Kit Grade 8 Merit
• Studied in Havana, Cuba with Omar Puente.
• Studied and performed with jazz saxophonist John Williams.
• Studied with Brazilian percussionist Pato Fuentes
• Performed with London School of Samba
• Studied Latin hand percussion instruments
• Independent studies of Rock, Blues, Soul, Latin and percussion.
• Attended various Music Business Training courses.
• Trained in sound recording at Twickenham Film Studios.
