Primal Water Pools
There are two locations in the Burning Crusade where you can easily find other avid fisherman and probably some PvP competition for special pools if you’re on a PvP server. These two locations offer different pools: Highland Mixed and Purel Water. The mixed pools will be noted in the Terokkar Highlands page, this spot is the place to be for information on Primal Water.
The Pure Water pools are only available to level 70 players (68 Druids) since a flying mount is required to reach them. The pools are located in the Water section of the Elemental Plateau which is nestled in the hills above the Throne of Elements in Nagrand.

If you take a look at the photo here, and you’re familiar with the rare spawn pools from Azshara (remember that place?) you’ll notice that they look exactly the same except for the tooltip.
The Elemental Plateau is not that hard to fish in, at 375 fishing (which you should have if you are lvl 70 and if you don’t have it you shouldn’t be here anyway) I can cast, and with a +75 lure I never miss a cast, so it’s not exactly a high level area. The best thing about these pools is of course the loot that you get from them: Motes of mana. Each pool drops anywhere from one to twelve motes, though twelve is really rare it did happen to me once! And there is more than one pool as well, in fact there are seven spawn locations all around the lake there. That means you can rack up quite the store of motes of water in a relatively short amount of time. I’ve fished all seven locations and a respawn in under ten minutes when I showed up and all the elementals had been wiped out. Speaking of elementals...
The plateau is home to several groups of level 70-71 non-elite elementals. The one’s we’re concerned with are the water type. These elementals behave just like any other water elemental in the game, in that they hit rather hard (when I first went there they were hitting me for around 350-400 per hit in plate) and also cast a water based spell. The spell hits for around 1500hp so interrupts will be very nice when fighting them, and you will be fighting them. There are two spawn locations gaurded by one of these elementals, so with a little practice you’ll be able to farm all the locations and only have to kill one elemental. Also, the elementals drop motes of water with about a 56% drop rate, which means that you’ll often get one or two motes off of any water elementals you kill there so it’s not too bad if you get jumped. There is also a patrolling elemental that swims underneath the water, which I’m absolutely sure that Blizzard put there to harass unwary fisherman, I’ve been jumped by him 4-5 times now. He’s easy to avoid, simply stand closer to the center of the island when fishing the pools near the island and he’ll pass right by.
All in all fishing these pools can be quite lucrative depending on your realm. Primal Waters (made from combining 10 motes) sell for around 15G on my server so you can easily earn a couple hundred gold in one night by simply stopping by whenever you go to Shattrath or Zangarmarsh (the Nagrand flightpath is annoyingly distant for Alliance, and the horde town is right in the way when you’re flying). GL out there, and enjoy the Primal Waters!
