BIO: Born in Bahía Blanca, Argentina, studied physics at the University of Buenos Aires where she obtained a PhD in 1995. Afterwards she worked in the Physics Department at the University of Buenos Aires six more years, and  was a  researcher of CONICET. In 2002 moved to the US, to work at the Physics Department of the Pennsylvania State University, as a visiting professor. At the end of  2004 moved to Washington,  worked in the Computational Materials Science Center at George Mason University where she is an affiliate faculty. In August 2005 joined  the Department of Physics and Astronomy of Howard University .
