Germany is a cold place in late January and early February which makes Tropical Islands an ideal place for a juggling meeting. We chose weekdays to have the get together because the ‘Island’ is open at a less expensive price and there are significantly fewer people there. There is no fee for this gathering other than the costs of Tropical Islands as it is basically just an invitation for us all to meet in the same warm place.

Games:
Last year Luke did a great job of hosting a games session in the kids area. With nerf ball cannons, trampolines, and obstacle courses at our disposal I’m sure that in the event that we organize some games they will also be fun this year. You can check out Luke’s Podcast 46 for an overview of last year

Shows:
Every night there are larger than life professional shows on the big stage with fire and magic and booming voices, etc for all the guests of Tropical Islands. Everybody is free to go as it’s included in admission costs. Us jugglers can relax and watch other people’s shows this time.
Food:
Though I’ve never heard of anyone searching anybodies bags for food and you can eat whatever you want in most areas of the venue, the people at tropical island would prefer if you were to buy food there. The analogy they give is that of bringing food into a restaurant.

Juggling:
The kids area is the best place to juggle unless I didn’t find some other more amazing place. It’s opening hours are 10:30 am - 9:00 pm. There is also a volley club court on a fairly large beach. After 9 pm the lighting in the open areas is just a shade too dark for good passing etc... further exploration of this massive ‘Island’ might conclude otherwise. Glow props would be nice for this time.

Other Amenities:
There are water slides that you can go on to your hearts content as well as pools, jacuzzis, saunas and steam rooms. There’s a whole meditation room and also a place with mattresses where you can go to just lay around or nap. There is a hot air balloon ride and bungee jumping if you’re interested also. There are also a couple of places to eat and lots of junk to buy.
Sleeping:
After paying admission to get in it is free to sleep on the ‘beach’. Bring sleeping bags and pillows etc. You may not bring a tent. I recommend earplugs and a blindfold for a good night’s sleep.
Clothing:
Bathing suit and sandals. Sun actually comes in during the day so you might want some sun screen.
See you there!
