Welcome to Shonan Sands. I’m Nancy and I live in Kamakura a city in the Shonan area of Japan. One of the things Shonan is known for is its beaches, and that is what inspired the name of my site. Here on Shonan Sands I’d like to share a bit of my life, what I enjoy, and what is great in Shonan. BTW that’s my daughter and grandson in the photo enjoying the sand.

One of the things I am involved with in my community is the publication of a little monthly English language news sheet called The Shonan Post. With the staff’s permission, I am making it available on Shonan Sands. This is not the official Shonan Post site (someday there will be one) and I am a traveler, so there will times when my posting of it will not be timely. Anyway, please enjoy! And drop by now and again to see what’s new.

In September and October I was traveling with my daughter and grandson, and some of the time with my husband.  I’ve posted photos of our trip, so have a look.
