Salem Hills High School Bands
Salem Hills High School first opened its doors to students in August 2008. The school is located in Salem, Utah and is home to more than 1,100 10th-12th grade students. There are currently more than seventy students involved in the band program under the direction of Mike Larsen. Students participate in a variety of ensembles including Marching Band, Jazz Band, Concert Band, The HITMEN (the school’s percussion ensemble), jazz combos, and small chamber groups like flute choir. In their first year, members of the SHHS bands have been recipients of a number of awards and honors, including trophies for marching band, sterling scholar, superior ratings at region festivals, and being one of six schools chosen to perform at the Snow College/Juilliard Jazz Summit in March of 2009.
