Jessica’s Mum, Lizzy:

“Before she became ill Jessica she was an ‘A’ and ‘B’ grade student who was very good at overcoming challenges whenever school and life presented them. She was very well on the way to becoming a straight ‘a’ student and was on track to achieve that the semester she became ill. When she was about 13 Jessica took part in Krav maga (an Israeli martial art, for lack of a better description). She was very proficient and was the youngest person at the time training in Australia. When she was first diagnosed with neuroblastoma the first question I can remember her asking was similar to "ok, so when can I go back to school?". This is the main question she has asked whenever she has visited her doctor. Apart from school, Jess is interested in fashion with a view to designing and making clothes. Before she became ill she enjoyed going out with her friends and when possible still does - although chemo does limit the times she can do this.”
