The Puppy Year

2007 was our year to raise a puppy. We adopted this adorable little guy on February 24 and our lives will never be the same.

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi is a herding breed developed in the U.K. Cardis are agile, devoted, and very, very smart. Born of champions, our puppy’s name is Tarea Brynmawr He’s a Rogue but his call name is “Jamie.” We think Jamie is the cutest puppy ever. Join us as we emBARK on our new adventure!

Forget fancy dog beds, this guy just wants to hang out with his belly to the wind.

Jamie had fun on Christmas day! He got a new little floss toy to chew on and enjoyed the fact that people tend to sit on the floor a lot on this particular day. The fire in the fireplace was nice for everyone, too.

He lives a life of luxury, so I don’t know what could be causing the flakes. It’s not like he sleeps outside in the dirt.

Jamie is well loved and gets a lot of attention. He’s a good boy, we remain delighted that he came to live with us.

He had a nice time! We got to go with a friend whose retriever dove into the waves chasing a tennis ball. Over and over again. Jamie was a bit more “prissy” about getting wet. His favorite part was meeting people and dogs. Mostly people.

Jamie is getting older and shedding some of his naughty bad habits - the best one is he no longer awakens me at 6am.

This summer, he had his first infestation of fleas! I had a flea comb and some Frontline so they did not last long. I removed a couple dozen with the comb and he was better within a few hours of finding the pests. I had wanted to put Frontline on as a preventative but I forgot to do that. Oops.

I haven’t posted in a long time because my computer got so muddled by having too much stuff on it so with effort, I now have a computer that is better able to handle the memory-intense applications like this blogging software.

As our cutie pie edges closer to his 2nd birthday, know that he’s still a treasured member of the family and he continues to impress people with his winning personality.
