Sunday was actually our 12th wedding anniversary but Ryan and I celebrated on Saturday night by going out for a fine dining experience-you know wine, appetizers, wonderful dinner and even better dessert.  It was superb--just me and my husband to talk for 2 hours without any children!  So you are probably wondering why the Don Giovanni allusion.  Well earlier in the day I had a gift certificate for a massage (Ryan had got me for a mother’s day gift--what a great guy!!)  Yes, 60 minutes of Swedish massage.  I also had an appointment for a haircut.  Well, while I was gone, in order to take care of the kids, Ryan put on the opera Don Giovanni.  Not a kids version (is there one?  I don’t think so-generally not a subject most kids would enjoy.)  but the whole 180 minutes of the New York Metropolitian Opera.  My girls were enthralled.  Ryan said as the music would change to more intense they would get excited and start asking him questions about what was going on.  Even Caroline--the music would affect the way she was playing or interacting.  (For example, as the music would swell to an exciting part she would kick, kick her feet or run around with the intensity of the music.)  So he really wanted to watch this himself--getting a bit frustrated when they were talking so much (about the opera, of course).  They wanted to know what was going on at every turn--why that man was so bad--what he was doing--what that girl said--why was she sad, etc, etc.  But then he realized that his children were interested in opera.  This could not make him any happier!  (because his wife is not so enthralled but he’s tryingSo he tells me they had quite an educational morning learning all about beauty, being repentant, and to BEWARE of men. (he’s starting early! :))  And the title of this blog--Johnny Avoni--that is what they called Don Giovanni.  They couldn’t quite say his name right in the beginning but after several times practicing, I think they can now say it pretty good.  Johnny Avoni--I thought that was pretty funny.

Johnny Avoni?--the Italian Heart throb!
