“The West home is a lovely two-story with a cozy, covered front porch. Built during the Great Depression, builders obviously reverted to the “space saver” plan that provided smaller rooms and lower ceilings; nevertheless, these factors contribute to the overall warmth of the home. The covered front porch and open rear deck provide ample overflow space for the frequent and spontaneous gatherings with wonderful neighbors.

Upon entering this home, you’ll see treasured family pieces that have been generously passed down, most notably the hand-carved bed in the master bedroom, entering its fourth generation in the family. The stairway landing cum office is often noted by friends as their favorite feature of this charming home. This centrally located niche of seemingly wasted space affords a great place to set up shop.

Nearly all of the original art in the home is the work of Sallie West. Her husband, John, enjoys collecting holy icons, on display in the dining room. While some of the icons are reproductions, several are hand-written by contemporary iconographers.”
