Congratulations to CCHS for capturing their 6’th straight Western League Championships. CCHS was led by regular season indivual champion Devon Brown,  along with 2 ’rd and 4’th place individual stars Joyce Kim  and Claire McGovern.   Coach Chris Grazier (CCHS) continues to churn out championship teams one year after another.  Great job ladies and coach.  Look for these talented young ladies to make a statement at CIF in a few weeks.

Congratulations to our 2008 City Conference Champion Devon Brown.

For the 3’rd straight year,  our city conference championship came down to the last hole as CCHS teammates Devon Brown and Joyce Kim ended up tied for the tournament with impressive rounds of 71.   For the second time,  Devon Brown would end up victorious in a playoff over a talented teammate to take home the grand prize.  Our girls somehow always find a way to create great drama down to the end.  Another great day for our conference,  as our 2008 tournament field showcased their talents in style.  Check out the City Tournament page for player stats and All League teams.

Congratulations to Joyce Kim (CCHS) for Placing 2’nd at CIF !!!!

Sophomore Joyce Kim (CCHS) nearly shocked the CIF world,  as she helped to dethrone the two time defending CIF champion by finishing 2’nd in the 2008 CIF Finals at Warner Springs.  Her accomplishments on this day earned her 1’st team All CIF Honors, along with an invite to next weeks State Regionals tournmament in Riverside.  Not bad for a relative newcomer on the block.

But don’t forget our City Conference champion Devon Brown ,  who shot low enough to also advance to regionals next Monday.  Congrats on yet another impressive tournament.

Great job ladies.  All always,  you were great ambassadors for our conference.

Check out both days at CIF on the CIF day 1 and CIF day 2 photo pages.

Also, Congratulations to OLP for capturing their own 6’th straight Eastern League Championship. This years squad, led by the 5’th place senior standout Elizabeth Ferry,  proved to be possibly the best OLP team in its 9 year history.  Coach Aaron Gonzalez has built quite a dynasty that may be getting better and better each year.  Five of their top players ended up in the top 14 of the conferences individual standouts.  Not bad for a team that keeps on improving and improving.
