Amen. Poop.
Amen. Poop.
Sunday, 1 November 2009
As sacrament meeting ended today, the benches surrounding the Pacini family were lucky enough to hear Elizabeth end her version of the prayer with Amen, poop. Proud moment as a mother, let me tell you. Somehow when my boys went through the ‘poop’ and ‘toot’ phase of vocabulary, although embarrassing, it wasn’t as bad as having a little girl do it. A bit gender biased, I know... It doesn’t really help that she is only 2...the boys were a few years older than her and had friends or school that I could try to blame their word choice on. At 2, her social network is comprised of blood relatives...all of whom I’m mostly responsible for. So, try that on. Not good.
She knows just what she is doing, too. She says it, smiles and flips her head back in complete glee. Naughty girl.
We’ve had an eventful week or so. Josh got back from a successful few days at camp. He was happy to be home...that made me happy. He also shared with me a few conversations that he was in on during his time away from me. Not conversations that I wanted to discuss with my 8 year old...but welcome to my new found world. I think he came back mostly scar-less, though.
The day he returned, William started fevering, which began a string of illness among the kids. Luckily, Joseph and I have yet to get it and I’m still praying it stays away. It was relatively short-lived and we still managed to make it to Disneyland for a few days of Fall Break.
Joseph and I are big fans of Hong Kong Disneyland. I especially like the double scoop ice cream cones that you can buy outside of It’s a Small World. Elizabeth has a habit of wanting only what I have...even if we buy her one that looks the same. So, the second day, I informed everyone that when Elizabeth was sleeping, we were hi-tailing it to the ice cream cone place where I could eat my ice cream in peace. She woke up 5 minutes before arrival at said place. Disturbing. I kind of thought Zibby would enjoy the characters...she was scared of all of them except for Mulan. Daisy Duck about threw her into hysteria. William and Josh aren’t that into the characters and stuff either...mostly just me. But they enjoyed the rides and shows. And you just can’t help but be happy there....unless your husband is on the phone/blackberry most of your second day there. Then you might get irritated...but only if he had been out of town the ENTIRE week leading up to the 2 day family trip or was going to be gone MOST of the week following the brief family happy time. Then, you might find yourself not as happy as you should be. Maybe.
The last news of the week is that we had the 20 week ultrasound and it is officially a girl...or more official than at the 14 week ultrasound that I didn’t really trust. But less official than it will be in February when we know for certain. Everything looks good thus far. Still taking it very easy as I spend a lot of time contracting already...strange. Still getting the shots which make me ill (I’ve decided it has to be the shots that is making me still so throw-uppy...I’m 22 weeks along...I should be improving more than this in the throw up arena. I’m on the 12 week countdown, though. That makes me excited. 12 more weeks and if she comes, she will have a great chance of being just fine. I can do 12 weeks. Praying that she can too.
This is the first child that Joseph and I have a disagreement about names. He has got the boys on his side...and he thinks Elizabeth is on his side too because he already taught her the name! BUT, I’m still pretty firm with the law that states ‘final naming say goes to the one who earns the 8 inch scar across the belly.’ I think it is a good argument. Besides...who wouldn’t love the name Savanna or Savannah (don’t tell me if you don’t like it. Serious...don’t tell me. You can comment on spelling options, though;) Joseph’s choice is Isabelle...calling her Bella. Cute...and it is really cute when Zibby says it. BUT, my heart is leaning for Savanna.
We only have pretty horrible photos from Disneyland. I didn’t do a good job with my point and shoot...better photos to come soon, dad.
