Pregnancy and Infant Loss

In the midst of all the breast cancer campaigns going on, most of us don’t realize that October is also Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month.  Like cancer, it’s one of those clubs that you pray you never have to join.  I wish no one ever had to experience the loss of a child but unfortunately it happens everyday.  When we lost Olivia last June, I never thought that my heart would ever be able to feel whole again.  And while I do feel great fulfillment now that Alex is here, there will also be a little sliver of my heart that has been permanently reserved for our daughter that we lost.  She will always be a part of our lives.

For any of you that have experienced the loss of a child, I wish you peace of heart and mind.

Don’t forget to light a candle for your angel or the angel of a loved one tonight at 7 p.m. in your respective time zone to create a wave of light around the world.
