Wow, this year has almost come to an end.  It has been surreal and completely blindsided us at times.  We’ve had some laughs, made new friends, endured overwhelming grief, and some how managed to make it through with our sanity.

The first of the year started out normal.  Then in February, we found out that we were expecting.  We were over the moon and never expected our joy to turn into heartbreak.  In April, we discovered that the baby had a less than 10% change of surviving till birth due to chromosomal abnormalities.  Our daughter, Olivia, was born sleeping on June 3rd.  It was the most painful thing we’ve ever had to live through.  Luckily, Roarke was there to give us hugs and kisses to remind us that life must move forward.

By the grace of God and wonderful friends & family, we survived, thrived, and even had the courage to try again.  In October, we discovered  that we were expecting again.  We’ve been cautiously optimistic.  So far all tests and ultrasounds show a perfect little baby growing day by day.

As the end of the year draws near, we are excited to celebrate Christmas, Roarke’s third birthday, and our 6th anniversary.  May next year be a better and more prosperous one for all.
