Slovenia 2008
Slovenia 2008
Slovenian hospitality is wonderful!
Where else would you get presented with a glass of Schnapps and offered another before you’ve taken your rucksack off your back?
Where else would you get a climber taking your spectacles you’d left in a Dom, down off the mountain and delivering them to your hotel?
Where else would you get three courses for breakfast?
We searched for adventure and we found it, in the Julian Alps and more specifically, in the Triglav National Park and the surrounding towns and villages. The holiday began on the 21st August and lasted two weeks - see Schedule page. Sometimes we revisited villages & towns, once even a restaurant, but always used Bled as a hub - anything to avoid Jesenice.
The following pages will let you see the wonders of the region and prepare you for the marvels you will encounter, should you decide to visit the country.
Note: apologies to any Slovenian readers if we have misspelled any words, we have tried to keep all place names correct.
