The blindness of our illusionary world

Many hours a day I analyse iris photos of my patients delving into the background of their seeing problems. It is very difficult for me to now limit my thinking of eye problems being caused by the eye. It is very clear that what I measure in the eye is a reflection of the inner perceptual world of the person. Last week I explained this process to an Optometrist.

I feel somewhat saddened that more people are not aware of the connections between the eye and the human part of our existence. I suppose this in my job. Keep investigating, writing, photographing and sharing my findings. So, when I walk on the street and watch people, I am thankful for bringing this new paradigm into existence.

The Human spirit is beyond colour

My country of birth is South Africa. I left to study in the U.S. in 1973. On arrival in America, I found myself highly embarrassed to answer the question: “And where do you come from?”
I was verbally attacked for my being South Africa, automatically condemned for the atrocities of the ruling Nationalist Party.

It took many years to undo the incredible brainwashing we white South African’s had to put up with. I have read all of the books written about the incredible story of Nelson Mandela. These days I am proud to say I am South African and be part of the rainbow nation. I send deep empathy for the challenges ahead, having personally witnessed the difficult times during my visit in 2007.

This past week, the election of Barack Obama to be President elect of America, also touched me very deeply. Living in Canada and Europe, it is not always rewarding to say I am a naturalised U.S. citizen. Today, I can say, I voted for Mr. Obama, and I am proud to be a global citizen and celebrate the next step for the USA, and the world.

May we all see beyond colour and enjoy the brilliance and spirit of these two fine men.

A question about Passion!

I laughed out aloud when I saw this question. It is so typical of how in our modern physically oriented way of perceiving life, we equate passion with sexuality.

This was my response.

Passion in self is not dependent upon a partner.

Passion is an inner excitement that has to be discovered by engaging yourself in the correct living, on your own. Then, when a partner shows up, you can share this passion with them and double the pleasure and passion.

I find my passion in taking photographs, emerging myself into the experience of what I see.
I was looking at a statue this week and then two men came into the picture. We all entered into our own individual passion and enjoyed the view.

The eyes are for connecting, seeing into the truth of what is present. Stop and look into her eyes and you find your truth, the truth of what is!

colour of the skin

As a young boy growing up in South Africa in the Sixties, I could never understand why the colour of the skin should dictate whether human beings could be with each other, or not. I shared my toys with other children. It didn’t matter if their skin was white or black.

It is great to live in a time of growing awareness, where the former veils of illusion are being peeled away. Human beings can decide fort themselves. In this photo I illustrate the possibility of integration at all levels.
