The Telos Project

The Telos Project is a multi-faceted spiritual initiative designed to attempt to figure out what it means to follow Jesus and help others do the same.  Dr. Bob Beltz launched The Telos Project in 1999 as a vehicle to teach spiritual truth in culturally relevant ways.  Rooted in the biblical call to “present the word of God in its fullness” in order to “present everyone complete in Christ” (Colossians 1:25,28), Telos is a ministry of creative proclamation, instruction, and encouragement. The Telos Project is designed to impact both those outside the institutional church, who do not yet have a meaningful relationship with God, and those inside the Church who need help reaching spiritual maturity.  The project is committed to making Christ known in an increasingly secular, post-modern world.

Telos is a New Testament Greek word that means "the end" or "the goal."  It is used in three distinct ways in the Bible - each of which plays an important role in the project.  The Apostle Paul used this word in relationship to spiritual growth and maturity when he stated that the goal of his ministry was to see every person "complete”, or “mature"(telos) in Christ (Col. 1:28). Telos is also used as one of the titles of Jesus Christ.  In the book of Revelation he is called the "Beginning and the End (telos)" (Rev.22: 13).  Finally, the word is used to refer to the end (telos) of this age and the return of Christ, (Mt. 24:13-14).  If you put these concepts together you can see that telos speaks of spiritual maturity in Christ for the critical times in which we live.  This is the mission of the Telos Project.

Because of Bob’s relationship with Highline Community Church, ( Head Coach of Team Highline) in Centennial, Colorado, this site now offers a direct link to all that is going on at Highline.  Make sure and check it out at www.highlinecc.org.
