Harry is not too sure about a new chick in the family. He runs around protecting his interests especially me. They are OK together outside and as long as she stays off the couch and away from my desk things will work out.
We are gearing up for rain again. wonderful. It could be worse though we could be up in DC. Wow. Judy says she can’t even get out of the house now and they are expecting another 20 inches....? Damn that GWB. He messed up everything including the weather.
A couple of bumper stickers caught my eye:

About 8 weeks old in Vicksburg. I guess she was pretty cute.
Its a cold, sunny day. I had to count money at church this morning. One of my least favorite things. I never get to keep any.
It still amazes me how the political class and the press fail to understand the Tea Party movement. For some reason the everyone must be categorized. They must have a sinister political agenda. They can’t just be folks who are fed up with corrupted government and representatives who don’t. They can’t just be everyday people who have a vested interest in seeing decisions made for the good of the country rather than the wealth and power ambitions of politicians. Politicians just can’t control a non-homogenous group like that so the movement doesn’t fit their agenda at all. Too bad. By the time they figure it out they will be sitting on the outside looking in. That’s what the movement is all about. And by the way, Sarah Palin does understand and that’s why she is so popular with the public and so hated and reviled by the elite. She gets it.
I see BHO is still talking about trials in NYC. No wonder he needs a teleprompter so badly. He is totally deaf. I am beginning to suspect cyborg here. The birth certificate mystery just lends credence to the thought the BHO was made not created. Yikes. The machines are here.
Jackson got on iChat with me last night during the game. He and I were the only ones cheering for the Colts...well except for BHO of course. Any way Jackson showed me the duffle bag he had made for me as a late Christmas present. Navy blue and gold colors with straps and pockets for golf balls. I was very impressed.
We pick up our temporary foster, Jessie, tomorrow. We haven’t had a little girl for quite a while. I just hope Harry and Rivers remember their manners.

That’s Kathleen’s back porch. She reported this morning that they got 30 inches. They got their power back but obviously nothing is moving. We got less than an inch of snow on top of about 2 inches of rain. It did freeze last night but we still went out to see “Stand By Your Man” the Tammy Wynette story. On the drive home we remarked that the roads would have been considered very drivable by CT standards. There was a patch of ice here and there but nothing to cause a problem. Unfortunately because of the weather, the theater was only about half full. The weak audience tended to dampen the performers so the show, while entertaining, lacked some spark.
The Gorebal Warming movement seems to be pretty much dead and buried by everyone except the democrats (and some stupid republicans) and their co-conspirators the American Press Corps. The British newspapers have been decimating the IPCC...
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) report is supposed to be the world’s most authoritative scientific account of the scale of global warming.
But this paper has discovered a series of new flaws in it including:
•	The publication of inaccurate data on the potential of wave power to produce electricity around the world, which was wrongly attributed to the website of a commercial wave-energy company.
•	Claims based on information in press releases and newsletters.
•	New examples of statements based on student dissertations, two of which were unpublished.
•	More claims which were based on reports produced by environmental pressure groups.
They are the latest in a series of damaging revelations about the IPCC’s most recent report, published in 2007.
Last month, the panel was forced to issue a humiliating retraction after it emerged statements about the melting of Himalayan glaciers were inaccurate.
Last weekend, this paper revealed that the panel had based claims about disappearing mountain ice on anecdotal evidence in a student’s dissertation and an article in a mountaineering magazine.
And on Friday, it emerged that the IPCC’s panel had wrongly reported that more than half of the Netherlands was below sea level because it had failed to check information supplied by a Dutch government agency.
I suppose the vaunted NYT or WP could have debunked the AGW bs also but they chose to view ClimateGate as a crime and doubters as anti-american criminals.
Gracie the little girl who had an artificial sphincter muscle implanted went to the Rainbow Bridge today. We had her for a couple of weeks. She passed peacefully in her sleep for reasons not yet determined. Her foster family loved her intensely and gave her a great life.
We will be getting a foster on Tuesday. We’ll only have her for short while to evaluate her suitability to go to another home. She’s just a one year old puppy who is being given up to the rescue.
Super Bowl Sunday. Oh how I hope and pray someone will interview BHO at half-time... What...? CBS will do it? Yehaw. Who doesn’t enjoy a good campaign speech during the Super Bowl. I just hope I don’t throw up my nachos.

That’s Riley, a friend’s Golden. Keep the feet and replace the body and you get any Golden in the area. So far, as of 10:00 AM all we have is rain and wind. The temperature is dropping and the snow is expected to start in earnest any time now. We heard from Kathleen who says 18 inches and still falling. They lost power and are depending on a gasoline powered generator. She thinks they have about a days worth of gas. Too bad they can’t tap the natural gas supply spewing from BHO .... but that’s another story.
We had planned on making the trek to Mechanicsburg for the Super Bowl but were hampered by church requirements on Monday. Just as well I guess. No way we get past DC going or coming. As it is we have a theater engagement this evening which really looks iffy. 1-3 inches of snow here is a incapacitating blizzard.
This morning we tried to sleep in, past 8 that is. For most people our age that is sleeping in, I agree, but we are not morning people. In any case Harry and Aslan decided we had slept enough and began to occupy more and more of the bed until I was forced to move. At that point they had me. Rivers would have joined in but he can’t make it up on the bed any more so he just noses from the side. So we got up and Mei Mei fixed SBS. Omelette. Yum.
Just note the fact that Fancy Nancy is still saying she will ram HC through. We need it to improve the economy she says. I would pass it off as typical loser vapor threats but she is an evil, evil, very powerful, satanic force. To hear is to shudder. Don’t get complacent.
If we think the economy is bad now just wait until Israel takes out Iran. Or, worse, Iran takes out Israel. Or course our response would be to condemn the Israelis for provocations but in fairness threaten to impose sanctions on Iran pretty soon. Maybe even state clearly that there will be consequences. I think it goes something like this. Iran had better get in line. We’ll give them six months, until June. I want some firm action no later than September. I’ll give them just 30 days more. The end of the year is the final deadline. OK that’s it. We’re working with our allies, Russia and China, to put some sanctions in place. We hope to have a draft ready to go in the next few months. Stand by Iran. We really sort of might mean it unless we don’t. Sigh....
I am trying to end on a happy note but once I get into politics it gets tough. Signifying nothing I leave you with this advice: Never pet a burning dog...

Major storm headed for the east coast. Come on Al, step in here. Warm things up. We may duck the majority of the snow because we expect about 3 inches of rain this afternoon. Snow expected late tomorrow. Oh well. The dogs love the mud.
So I guess its petty to criticize BHO for referring to a Navy Corpsman as a “corpse-man” But just remember how Bush was savaged any time he made the slightest verbal gaffe. The bias of the press has been documented over and over but every time there is a new example, the wound begins to bleed. Dana Milbank of the vaunted WP wrote a hit piece on Brown’s race to be sworn in to the senate. As though he really shouldn’t have been seated because, after all, he is a republican . And poor Paul Kirk, the appointee, who by Mass law should have stepped aside as soon as the election results were known, was just so badly treated. I don’t know how those people live with themselves.
Another mystery event unfolds. A prominent Washington based blogger was the victim of a hit and run. The driver was apparently a State Department employee. The story reads like something out of a poorly written novel where the reader says no-way that happens.... As usual its the cover up that is the story... read here.
No family news as usual. I think I missed a chance to chat with Kath. She usually texts when she wants to chat. But I turn off my phone in the evenings to conserve battery power. (Green is my middle name, you know) Pam doesn’t even read the blog so how would she know.... No telling where Scott is. He hasn’t had a vacation in weeks.
Here is a little jazz on the subject of BHO constantly blaming Bush. Very entertaining.
