Appalachian Hoedowners

Melissa has been clogging for 20+ years. In the past she has been taught by wonderful instructors and has gone on to share her talent with others and form the Appalachian Hoedowners. She is very proud to be the instructor of the Hoedowners, such an extremely talented group of dancers. She and her husband Danny have been married for more than 20 years and reside in Crockett Virginia.

The Appalachian Hoedowners call Crockett Virginia home. Founded in 1995, the group has been growing and changing over time. They perform to a variety of music including Bluegrass, Country and Gospel - and you will always find some comedy during their shows. The Hoedowners are very excited to introduce three additional teams this year: Appalachian Tradition, Appalachian Darlings and
Appalachian Basic. All together there are 32 very energetic members.
You will find some or all of the “4” Appalachian teams performing at the Chautauqua Festival, RR/Wythe County Fair, Hungry Mother Art & Craft Festival, New River Valley Fair, Rural Retreat Heritage Day, West Virginia State Fair,
Rockingham County Fair, Grahamfest.USA, Bland Fair & Bland Fall Festival, just to name a few.

They are very excited to showcase their talent which they feel blessed to have received and enjoy sharing with others.
