Russ’ World

I’ve had all the technology I need to put a blog together for some time, but I’ve never taken advantage of it. No more! My hope is to present something useful, a bit entertaining, and most of all a guide for anyone wanting to know more about the One who gave everything for us, Jesus, Son of Man and Son of God, Savior of the world, including me.

If you have any questions about what you read here, feel free to drop me a line. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. In the near future, as soon as I figure out how to set it up, I plan to start “Monday Night Live” webchat sessions to discuss the Bible, religion, news, etc. Keep an eye on the blog!

One of my favorite ways to keep fresh with the Bible is to use a format for reading it through in a year. Amazingly enough, it’s called The One Year Bible, published by Tyndale. It divides the Bible into 365 daily readings. An Old Testament narrative portion, followed by a New Testament reading plus a section of the Psalm and Proverbs to read. By the time you’re done, you’ve read the whole Bible through, cover to cover. I’ve written companion daily devotionals called, “Points To Ponder,” on the Old Testament narrative portion. The link to these in in the column on the right if you’re interested in joining a great group of Bible readers and taking up the challenge of reading through the Bible in a year.
