THE GLYNN’S BARMITZVAH AND BIRTHDAY PARTY

I had the pleasure of photographing the most amazing party on Saturday night at Frankie Dettori and Marco Pierre White’s restaurant, Frankie’s Criterion, in Kensington, London. The party was for Ethan Glynn to celebrate his Barmitzvah and 13th birthday.

The entertainment line up was pretty spectacular with, Basement Jaxx, DJ Guilty Pleasures and the amazingly talented, Dionne Bromfield, to name but a few.

Needless to say, there were so many photo opportunities, there was practically smoke coming from my shutter button!!

As you can see from the photographs, an amazing night was had by all!

FESTIVE SHOPPING EVENT

I recently joined forces with my good friend Louise from Bennets. We decided to have a “Festive Shopping Event”, with after hours shopping in the gorgeous Ashbourne store, discounts, mulled wine, mince pies and lots more!

The local Mayoress, Caroline Cooper kindly came along to draw the raffle which raised money for the Altzheimers Society and Help for Heroes.

The evening was a great success and everyone who braved the snow and ice had a great time, so thanks to all our loyal customers who supported this event.

THE TARR FAMILY AUTUMN SHOOT

I had the pleasure of photographing the Tarr family again recently. They chose the same spot as their last shoot in January, to create a real contrast to the frosty wintery images, in this fantastic Autumnal shoot at Ilam.

The Tarr’s are always an absolute joy to photograph, all very photogenic obviously, but the kids, Ellie and Alby are a pleasure to be around. They don’t get bored or tired, they just have a great time and are so well behaved, with just the right amount of spirit and personality to get some really great expressions. The only time they get a bit sad is when we’re finished and it’s time to go home!

This is the fifth time I’ve photographed the Tarr family, and I hope I’ll have the pleasure of photographing them many more times. It really is wonderful when my clients are as passionate about pictures as I am!

LADIES LUNCHEON AT HASSOP HALL

I had the pleasure of yet another “hard day’s work” at Hassop Hall in Bakewell on Monday 16th November.

I accompanied the Young Ideas fashion team at a fabulous event created to raise money for Sheffield Children’s hospital. About 180 ladies were invited to a lovely morning of coffee and mince pies, whilst browsing the stalls offering lots of girly and Christmas goodies. The most amazing fashion show was then put on by Young Ideas, followed by a delicious luncheon.

It’s a dirty job, but hey, someone has to record these events!!!

KENSINGTON SHOOT

I trotted off down to London for a shoot for my client Violet and Lily, who had planned this amazing party for a little girl in Kensington. The theme was pirates and mermaids and as you can see it all looked just gorgeous!

SELLORS JEWELLERS VIP CHRISTMAS EVENT AT CHATSWORTH HOUSE

I was lucky enough to receive an invitation to the VIP preview evening of Ashbourne jewellers Sellors annual Christmas event at Chatsworth House on Friday 6th November. An amazing affair, the huge marquee is erected in the grounds of Chatsworth House, with gorgeous chandaliers, champagne and canapes on arrival, sophisticated entertainment, with even Santa Claus and a couple of gorgeous fairies making an appearance!

All that, plus of course, the biggest, most exquisite range of stunning jewellery you have ever seen in one place! Quite literally something for all tastes, even a gold or silver last rolo for the love of your life!

I did manage a glass of champagne, however spent most of the evening taking a few shots of the goings on, for both Sellors and also for Young Ideas, Ashbourne’s fabulous designer clothing boutique, who had their stunning models mingling with the crowd.

HEATH HOUSE

On Tuesday I photographed the most gorgeous stately home, Heath House in Tean, Staffs. The house is going to be featured on Channel 4’s programme Stately Home Rescue in the new year, and will soon be holding amazing events and weddings. It is certainly not in need of rescue, as it is just beautiful inside, and so well cared for. It was a pleasure to meet the owners, John and Flavia who kindly gave us a tour of the house, and provided lunch! The photographs will be featured on the homes website and literature for advertising for corporate events, weddings and parties.

YOUNG IDEAS FASHION - ASHBOURNE

At the end of September, I was invited back to the Autumn launch party at Young Ideas designer clothes shop in Ashbourne. The worthy cause which the event raises money for was Treetops Hospice, and as well as representatives from the charity, there was also Bang and Olufson providing the music, fantastic canapes from The Dining Room, amazing champagne cocktails from W Smiths, stunning jewellery from Sellors in Ashbourne and of course, the most amazing fashion show!

I recently did a pre-wedding photo shoot with Carla and her intended, David. I used to work with Carla when I did the 9-5 grind before I became a photographer. It was a really lovely shoot at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham, which I just loved. It’s always nice photographing people you know and hopefully I was able to put them at ease, although they are totally relaxed with each other anyway! I’m really looking forward to their wedding on May 23rd at Colwick Hall in Nottingham, a gorgeous venue. I think their day will be really special and loads of fun, knowing Carla! I also look forward to putting the camera down and having a drink with them both afterwards to celebrate their future together, they really are a lovely couple and deserve all the happiness in the world!
