Oh, Happiness Performance Click Track

I had been seriously digging the tune “Oh, Happiness” by David Crowder* Band off the new album Church Music. Loved the lyrics, loved the simplicity but since we didn’t have a keyboard in the band, I didn’t think we could pull it off. It’s because without the signature riff that’s on the tune, the track would be pretty lifeless. So I came up with a great idea: We’d just recreate the keys (riff, pads, etc.) in a click track that we’d play along too. We’d mix it down to an .mp3, play it off of on iPod that our fearless drummer would initiate. It worked. Maybe too well. Now we’re up and running with this great tune and trying to figure out which song will next get the click track treatment.

As mentioned on Reveal, here’s the track for your listening and worship-leading pleasure. Oh...and the church bells were recorded live from a churchyard in Tetbury, UK on my iPhone.
