In 2002 I hosted my first ever International Precision Teaching Conference (though I had been attending them as a regular since 1997). This conference taught me a number of things:

1. 1.Always invite colorful characters.
   

2. 2.Remind speakers to take off the Lavalier microphones before going into the restroom.
   

3. 3.Good food always makes conference attendees happy.
   

4. 4.Stop telling that joke about the guy with a 10 inch pianist on his shoulder.
   

5. 5.The Precision Teaching conferences are the best conferences in the world with the most generous and kindest souls in the profession.
