My father died when I was ten years old.  While I have a few vivid memories of him, I also feel I hardly knew him.  In fact I am only aware of one photograph in existence of the two of us, even though he was quite a photographic enthusiast at one time.

This site is dedicated to my research into his life.  In particular, his involvement in the Great War and his role in setting up a company in Birmingham that still carries his name even though it is no longer owned by the family.

About Me

I am Leslie Ashton’s second son, Paul Richard.  I was born at the end of the Second World War when my father was 47.  When he died in 1956, aged 58, I was ten years old.

Due to my wife April’s passionate interest in genealogy I have been encouraged into finding out more about my father, starting with the family tree.  I hope you find this site interesting.
