It has been such a festive weekend.  We have been talking to Garrett about Santa and explaining that he is very nice in hopes that we would have a better experience this year.  First we took him to our ward Christmas party and he watched all the other kids sit on Santa’s lap while I waited in line for our turn.  He really wanted the bubbles that Santa was giving to the kids so we explained that he had to sit on Santa’s lap to receive the bubbles.  When he got on Santa’s lap he immediately asked for the bubbles, so the visit was short and sweet.  Since he did ok we decided to take him to get his picture taken with the “real” Santa at the mall.  Garrett had fun playing around before it was his turn to sit on Santa’s lap.  He was so darn cute and you can tell from the video he was trying to be so brave.  We would ask him to smile for the picture and he would smile really quickly and then get serious again.  Well, he warmed up to Santa as they began to talk more and this “real” Santa was so good with him.  In the end we had Santa give Garrett some more bubbles because he now thinks that is what he is suppose to get if he sits on Santa’s lap :)  We were all glad this year’s visit was a happy visit.
