At Pine Hollow Landscapes, we believe that the best examples of perfection in landscape design can be found sitting beside a woodland stream. Over thousands of years, as endless parades of rainwater have rolled downhill on their journey to the sea, the land has been molded to cradle the water’s path.

The soil and leaves carried downstream by the current nestle between the stones to give purchase to seeds. Rushes, shrubs and small trees send their roots between and beneath the rocks to find save haven from the rushing water.  All manner of creatures make their way to the rivulet to drink from rippling pools or pull their meals from beneath sheltering stones.  There is no spot more serene, and it is places like this that the designers at Pine Hollow choose to visit whenever we can. Not only does the intersection of landscape and moving water create a synergy of texture, color, movement and sound, but it also invites us humans to mingle with the natural world in ways no other

setting can. Our fifteen years of extensive native plant horticulture experience, combined with over sixty individual projects integrating water into the garden, have given us a unique perspective on how to construct landscapes which pay homage to nature.
