Since 1994, Paul Masse has been living in Japan and training consistently two to three times a week directly with Grand Master Masaaki Hatsumi Sensei. No other foreigner has trained this long or this consistently with Hatsumi Sensei.   This is surely one realization of the expression,

武風一貫, Bufu Ikkan or Devotion to the Martial Winds. 

 In 1994 after completion of a Masters of Business Administration in International Finance from the University of South Florida and The University of Dauphine in Paris, France, a deep sense of un-fulfillment led Paul to Japan to pursue a life of training under the Grand Master. His current profession is a far cry from international finance! Currently he can be seen in the streets of Yokohama where he has become a renown street performer juggling live chainsaws and riding 10 foot unicycles while juggling fire and knives and other dangerous objects.      Paul`s martial art background includes black belts in Karate and Aikido as well as experience in full contact kickboxing and Muay Tai. Although, after introduction to the Bujinkan in the late eighties, he has been single heartedly devoted to the study and mastery of this wonderful martial tradition.

     Virtually unknown, Paul has trained at the feet of the Grand Master for the last fourteen years. Sometimes translating and always helping, in the spotlight but somehow strangely hidden!  But now, after much urging by his peers in Japan and around the world, he has agreed to share his wealth of knowledge and understanding of the Grand Master`s movement with his fellow martial friends around the world to help create the next great community of true martial artists for a better earth! 真心まされ!
