BLUM RANCH WINS JACKPOT

    Elizabeth and Ray Billett won the 50/50 jackpot at the Acton Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party on December 12, 2008. President Jim Schute hosted the party again this year for about 70 local merchants and their spouses. Annette Lane from PREMISE KEEPERS MC’d the drawings.  5 new businesses got their official plaques:  Karioke WOW, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles, A to Z Critter Care, California Horse Barns and Power Circle Management.

One of two original founding members of the Acton Lions Club, Lion Fred Fate, served five terms as president of the local service club that started out in what is now the kitchen of the Acton Community Club. John Joyce served as founding secretary.

ACTON LIONS CLUB CELEBRATES 25th BIRTHDAY


Jaime Cisneros finished concrete aprons for Acton Agua Dulce/LA County Library on Crown Valley Road last Wednesday, December 10, 2008. Both driveways into the new building were reinforced eight inch slabs built to carry heavy vehicle weight for many years.

"Bring the horse down. Park it here. Walk right in and read a book," says Cisneros because instead of concrete curbs gutters and sidewalks there will be a crushed granite trail running along Crown Valley Road with hitching posts.
