Countdown to our Cruise ....

Talk about excited. In ten days Paul and I are going to be on this big, bad baby. This is a picture of one of the pool areas on Royal Caribbean’s new ship, Oasis of the Sea and the lounge chairs around this pool are some of our furniture. Yipe, my hubby’s company has furniture on the ship. So that will be fun to see also. Can’t believe the trip is finally here. We actually signed up for this cruise back in 2008! That is how far in advance they were booked. I probably won’t have the opportunity to blog again between now and when we leave, way to much to do! But check back the middle of February and I will have lots of pictures to share with everyone. For now, Bon Voyage. I am off to the Caribbean real soon for 7 fun filled days!!!!! The official countdown is in progress.

Tomorrow is my sister Dorothy’s birthday and she looks damn good for her age! You just have to trust me on this one ..... But all that said, I do want to wish her a happy, happy birthday and send wishes for a wonderful 2010! She deserves it! Had fun in Vegas with you and Betty celebrating your birthday sister. Nothing like Friends!

What would we do in this world with our family and our friends! In keeping with my “New Year’s
Resolution” of spending more time with good friends, I went to my HBNC Luncheon today and
had a fun day with four really good friends, Pat, Carol, Doreen and Maria. It was a fun day and I always enjoy time with these ladies. And tomorrow I am going to do a repeat but this time with friends from the Welcome Wagon of Orange County group of ladies I have become friends with over this past year. I have said it before and I will say it again, Life is Good! I thank the Lord for my wonderful family and all the great friendships he has given me over the years. So here is to my friends! Thank you for being there.

Today is my sister Betty’s birthday. So first off I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY BETTY! Hope you have a great day and that your family showers you with love and lots of attention! You deserve it. I am blessed to have many sisters and we are all very close which makes it even nicer! And speaking of that, I will see you in Vegas soon birthday girl and we will celebrate your birthday again then! But for now, have a great day! I am thinking of you ......

New Year Resolutions .... .....

This year I decided instead of making that same old New Year’s Resolution that we all seem to make about losing weight and getting into shape, I would try to come up with something new and more original! So my resolution was to stay in touch with old friends and do more with friends close by! In keeping with that, today I am off to have lunch with my friend Pat, looking pretty in yellow! I am looking forward to a fun couple of hours just chatting, laughing and enjoying a good meal. Then it is off to Whole Foods to buy something yummy to cook for dinner. Which leads me to my other resolution ... I am going to try to cook more at home this next year and eat out less. We will see how far I get on that one. But so far, Paul is loving my efforts! Hope the rest of my family and friends are following thru on their Resolutions too. Here is to a wonderful 2010! Can’t believe we are already 5 days into the New Year!

I am very excited because Forest has given up his pacifier! And without any major problems either. Not sure how Brad and Dawn made that happen but I am very happy for them and proud of Forest. He has always been our pacifier boy! Logan gave up the paci early on for his thumb and gave that up shortly after too. But Forest loved his paci and bunny! Dawn had him where he would only use it at naps or when he went to bed at night. Although there were a few times he snuck in the room to have a paci moment .... But no more! So I am very proud of you Forest. That was a great New Year’s Resolution although you don’t realize it! Now you are officially a big boy. They do grow up so fast .......

WOW times surely have changed over the years! I took this picture of my three youngest grandchildren all playing games on various IPhone’s! Logan has Brad’s phone, Forest has
Dawn’s phone and Kirsten has mine. Makes me wonder what else they are going to see and experience during their lifetime. I grew up listening to Gunsmoke on the radio!! I remember when
they introduced television and how excited my siblings and I were. Who would have thought we would have cell phones, computers and be writing blogs! Life is interesting to say the less.

I was working on my pictures today and realized I am a very lucky mom! I have two great sons that both have beautiful families. As you can see from the above picture of Brad and his family and the picture below of Jas and his family. As a mom, you do the best you can raising your kids and you know along the way you have made mistakes and just hope that the things you feel you did right, turn out that way. I am thinking Paul and I must of done some right stuff! Just look at these two gorgeous and obvious happy families! Life is good! Both our boys are hard working men, love their families, married wonderful ladies and are doing a pretty darn great job of raising our grandchildren. I am very proud of you Brad and Jason. You too Dawn and Jolene!!!!

As you can see, we have remained a family of 11 but our grandchildren are growing up by leaps and bounds! My sister in law took this picture for us when we were in Austin last week for the holidays. Had a wonderful, wonderful time and like any mom, it was nice for me to have both my sons together for the holidays. With one living in Texas and one in California, we don’t manage for that to happen very often. So that was a great Christmas present Paul gave me this year! We had a fun, fun time and I have so many new pictures to share. But not today! Keep checking back and soon I will have pictures from the holidays to show off! Hope all my friends and families enjoyed the holidays as much as Paul and I. Although I have to admit, it is nice to have them behind me now and I am looking forward to a wonderful New Year!

D-Day . . . . .

It is finally here! After weeks of trying to get ready for the holidays and talking about going to Texas I am 24 hours from getting on a plane and being with my family. Can’t wait to see Brad,
Dawn and my BOYS!!!!! Seems like it has been forever. I talk to Logan and Forest on the phone some now and I love it every time they call. They are growing up so fast and I truly can’t wait
to have some nana time with them. Looking forward to seeing Loma, my dad, and our siblings too. But the biggest joy in my heart right now is thinking about seeing my grandsons, my son and Dawn. Just can’t wait!!!! It is going to be a great Christmas. Since I am going to be in Texas
until Christmas Eve I want to take this opportunity to wish all my friends and family the best this
holiday season. May it bring you much joy and happiness. Be sure and check back with me in
