La Ménagerie en Sologne
La Ménagerie is a late 18th century stone cottage and former wine-maker’s house situated in the heart of Chateau Country.
This is an ideal gateway to all the major French Grand Chateaux: Chambord, Cheverny, Blois, Chenonceau, or Amboise, all within a 30 Km radius from the cottage.
The cottage is set on two floors and can accommodate up to six adults and two youngsters in comfort. It is typical of the traditional longère style, with a long facade and an upper floor with dormer windows.
Walking the gently rolling landscape along forest trails and country lanes which come as close as a few meters from the house, or cycling from castle to castle, you will not lack things to do during your stay. You may also simply experience the country lifestyle and good living a la française, and relax.

A cosy cottage set amidst fields, woods and vineyards in Central Loire Valley
The property enjoys a very tranquil location though it is a few minutes away from Chitenay --a lovely village of Sologne-- only 10 km from the renowned Château de Cheverny and 15 km from the city of Blois
The area --South of the Loire river-- is abutting the region of Sologne, the best hunting grounds in France. It has produced wines since at least the 6th century. That is why this area is sometimes referred to as “Sologne Viticole” (the wine producing part of Sologne region).
This is a perfect romantic getaway or short break from bustling cities to the heart of the Grand Chateaux area in France : it is about 2 hours from Paris and only a 40 min. drive from Tours Airport (47 miles)
