My sunflowers are blooming!
There are eleven sunflower plants lining the wall in my backyard, and as of this week they have begun to bloom! I love glancing out our french doors and seeing how tall they’ve grown. Gabe (4 year-old I baby sit) gave me a packet of sunflower seeds for graduation, and I planted them just before Mexico. While I was there, I received word from my mom that they had begun to sprout. I was overjoyed! So much, in fact, that I forgot to read the rest of my mom’s email. I ran across the ranch and directly over to the kitchen to announce the news to whatever audience I could find.
As you can see, these sunflowers are very dear to my heart. :) That is why I am so excited! So here are two pictures of the first two blooms.

Sorry the pictures aren’t the greatest, but I was about to be attacked by the killer bees! (They must be in cahoots with the killer mosquitos!)
Oh, and I meant to post this with my other PEI photos. This is a sunset over the bay (right across from our cabin). Isn’t it gorgeous?

P.S. I’m still waiting for a DVD of pictures of my Mexico trip, but you can watch this slideshow while you wait.
