Welcome to the Furman University Percussion Studio! We are glad that you stopped by our website. Set in the oldest, largest, and most selective private institution in South Carolina, percussion studies at Furman combine a nationally-renowned liberal arts education with a world-class percussion experience that encompasses all facets of percussion performance. Whether you are looking to be a music educator, professional performer, or if you want to include percussion as part of your liberal arts education with a Bachelor of Arts degree, there is a place for you in the Furman Percussion Studio. As an undergraduate-only institution, Furman University offers its students a small class size (the student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1) and percussion students enjoy a plethora of performance opportunities usually reserved for graduate students at larger universities. Two wind bands, a full symphony orchestra, chamber ensembles, world music ensembles, the Paladin Regiment, Jazz Ensembles, and a biennial concerto competition, are just a few of the performance opportunities that Furman percussionists enjoy.
