I was a leader in the cycling community in the U.K., serving as a british Cycling Mountain Bike Commissaire and the Mountain Bike Coordinator for the Welsh Cycling Union.  Since moving to Colorado, I have been involved in trail building in Boulder County as a member of IMBA and the Boulder Mountain Bike Alliance.

Over the last two years I have also become heavily involved with Boulder Valley Cycling Alliance (Tokyo Joe’s Boulder Devo) whose mission is to help unite the greater Boulder cycling community and to promote all levels of junior cycling. I have taken juniors on winter training camps, held skills clinics and supported riders at local and national races, and was fortunate enough to have one of our junior members selected for the World Championships in Italy. I am working towards my USAC Level 3 coaching qualification in order to progress my coaching to a higher level.

For 2009, I plan to race once more for the Waltworks/Fuentesdesign Pro Team on the Pro MTB circuit, and dust off my road skills to compete at regional road races and crits. I also plan to build later in the year for my first attempt at the Leadville 100 and continue with a strong cyclocross season.
