We started out with the idea of growing grapes from visiting our son, Greg in Virginia.  We would stop at the wineries, which were quiet a few in his area, and visit with the winemakers.  Although we made wine at home, we had no intention of opening a winery. We then decided to try to grow wine grapes to sell to wineries. The closest winery to us is Stoney Ridge Winery, located in Bryan Ohio.  When attending a seminar, Mark met Phil & Pam Stotz, owners of Stoney Ridge.  They said they would want to buy the wine grapes that we harvested, but thought it would be great if we opened a winery since wineries are so few in northwest Ohio.  So we did!
