Run to Rotorua

...and so it starts. I can’t tell you how I’m feeling at the moment. I have no idea whether I will be able to pull it off or not. But as we all know life is about trying isn’t it and if you don’t try you’ll never succeed.
So today I went out with Carl for a cycle ride. It’s been one of those days where we both sat there saying what shall we do and it ended up with the great idea of cycling from Te Atatu to the North Shore and then back home via the cycle route on the North Western a total of 36 miles / 57kms. Great idea, but putting it into practice pushed me more than I thought it would. My Arms ached, my legs ached and my arse ached as well. Even now, 3 hours having finished I can hardly move my legs arms or bare to sit down. But this marks the start of my journey of training as well as the pleasures and definite pains that await me.
At 91kg (and full of Xmas cheer) I hope it also marks the start of a new fitter and leaner me.... So that’s day 1 of my ramblings. Now, where’s that baked potato, gravy, mushy peas and sausages....
