GXP3 and iGXP is a complete solution to control your golf scores, performance and handicap.

GXP3 allows you to access all data on your desktop, with graphics and statistics.

iGXP, for the iPhone 3G and 3GS allows you to enter your score in a convenient way, then send files by email to your friends and to yourself.

iGXP files can be imported by GXP.

With GXP3 you will manage 3 lists of information.
The first one handles the Players. The second one, the Golf Courses. And the third and more important one, handles the Games List, with the rounds you and the members of your Players List, played.
Each list has its own editing screen, where you may enter or edit information. Once you entered the information, GXP3 will be able to analyze it dynamically and in a customized way.
Every time you load GXP3 it will remember your last saved file.

To install GXP3, double-click the .dmg file to mount the image.
Then drag GXP3 to your /Applications folder.

GXP3 is fully compatible with GXP2. You don’t need to import any previous file.

Quick Buttons

Right above the lists you will find a search field and 4 quick buttons to quickly add New Players, New Courses, New Games and print customized ScoreCards.
Click the arrow at the search field
to choose the search criteria.
You can find games by Player,
buy Weather or by Course.

The first toolbar button in GXP3 is the Edit Players button.
In this section you will create and edit all relevant information of your golf friends.
Short Name and Gender are very important information, since they will be used to find games in other sections and to calculate your handicap respectively.

Here, you will also be able to estimate the players handicap.

If you click the Estimate button, GXP3 will calculate the current handicap of the selected player, using the formula defined at the preferences.

To calculate your handicap using US Formula, GolfXpress first calculates your handicaps differentials, according to the formula:

HD=(Gross Score-Course rating)x113/Slope rating

Then, assuming you have at least five handicap differentials available, it will select your lowest handicap differentials according to this table.

Finally, it will calculate the average of your lowest scores.
Your US handicap will be 96% of this value.

With this option your first handicap is calculated using five 18-holes-games, with at least 3 of them played at your home course.
Your first five score cards are also adjusted to a maximum of a Double Bogey.
This adjustment is done only when you submit your first 5 cards.
Your (adjusted) Gross score, subtracted from the game Course Rate is your Handicap Differential.
The average of the last 5 Handicap Differentials is your European Handicap, limited to 27 if you are a man, or 45 if you are a woman.
Currently, some courses admit men handicap up to 32.
With GolfXpress2, you may choose to use European Handicap.

Go to GXP 2 Menu -> Preferences -> Handicap Formula

Be aware, though, that GXP2 will not adjust your first 5 games scores or ask for 3 games to be played at your Home Course. This may result in a difference that tends to be corrected as you enter new rounds. GXP2 European Handicap are limited to 32 for men and 45 for women.

Edit Courses

Click Edit Courses to create and edit your Course List.
Note that if you change the selected course at the main window Course List, the Edit Course Screen will update dynamically.
Click Duplicate button to quickly create a new tee at the same course.

Here you create and edit Games.

You can change the information displayed by changing the game at the main window Game List.
The two dots at the right of the Putts Field are representation of the Stableford strokes (1 and 2 respectively).
From this screen, you can access Details and Graph screens.

The Details Screen allows you to register Lost Balls, Drive in Fairway, Greens in Regulation, Sand Shots and Hazards.

Here you can also comment the current game.

In the Graphs Screen, the blue line represents your performance and the red line, the Course bar.

Browse the Games List and the graphs will update dynamically.

Note: The Edit Game, Details and Graph Screen will always show the current selected game at Main Window Games List.

Creating New Games

When you click New at the bottom of the Game Editing Screen or New Game button at Main Window you will select the Player, Course and will be presented to the New Game Screen.

At the New Game Information Screen you can add the information of the game.

By default, GXP2 adds the current date as the game date.

Clicking More at the bottom of the screen, you will get additional information, such as Lost Balls, Greens in Regulation, Drive in Fairway, etc.

Print Scorecard

Click the ScoreCard button to select Player and Course and print a customized ScoreCard.

The ScoreCard will give you the information about the Course, but also will inform your averages and best performance at that course.

Game Statistics

The Game Statistics Screen presents you with the result of the current selected game.

Note that it updates dynamically as you browse the Games List at the main window.

This is the heart of GXP2.
Once you hit the Statistics button at the toolbar, you will define the filter of your search.
You may search by Player’s short name combined with Course name.
Or, if you hit the ignore buttons, you may get the whole available statistics of a player, or even of a course (good for teachers, for example).

Dream Round

The Dream Round section calculates the best performance by hole in a given course.

This is the most flexible way to get your statistics. Just Cmd-Click the games at the Games List, and GXP2 will provide you detailed statistics.
This option is great to compare statistics from games played from different players.
