8th graders find connection between animal and child abuse
Joe Moorman’s 8th graders at Stetson Middle School were interested in exploring the possible connection between animal and child abuse. To do so they met with nine different community partners, including Jenn Utley, wife of Phillies’ second baseman Chase Utley. The Utleys are ardent animal advocates.
Says Joe, “We soon found that our theory was, in fact, a legitimate area of scientific and social research. My students were proud of their intellectual accomplishment.”
Among the outcomes of their year-long research was this public service announcement, produced by the students.
