The Salon

May 2008-  April  2011

The Salon started nice and open and started closing up and closing in and now it almost seems too small.  there are windows and shutters on the front and back now and we are looking forward to repairing a few small holes in the fylon roofing and installing shelving to make living a bit easier and cleaning possible!!

One big goal right now is shelving, shelving and a child’s swing. and a cold can, and a perfect place for the humanure compost pile.  I need to take some more pictures and get this up to date too.

Until I build the House, the Salon is home

Eventually, I see the Salon as a workshop and boutique that serves farm fresh eggs, coffee, and yoga in the morning.

The front is all about vegetables, herbs, hand made soaps, candles, Ukrainian batik eggshells, white oak baskets. Inside, the shelves are lined with wool and yarn of all natural colors.  The spinning wheel and loom embrace the warmth of the fire in the evenings and mingle their own sounds with the crackling wood.
