<richText>I’m watching my new litters of Flemish Giants and they are growing SO FAST-- that I wrote out an SOS to Pam Arthur and asked her to give me some realistic expectations on how much time I have to make decisions and move (sell) the kits that I want to sell. I also asked her opinion on what I should consider holding back for myself out of the litters and here is part of her reply:OK, Yes, I think you should keep a blue buck..and a steel from Eartha & Money...Yes, I'd pick the biggest one or do as you said - and watch for an extra month...I have been holding mine for 6 - 8 weeks - which at that time is much bigger than a Holland Lop..LOL they're BIG BABIES! Weights should be: 2 mo(5-6 lbs.) 3 mo(7-8lbs) 4 mo (9lbs) 5 mo(10lbs)6mo (11-12)7mo(12-13)8+months old does - 14 lbs 8 + months old bucks - 13 lbs or over.... Pam says she weans them from mommy at 6 weeks and puts them in their own cage - together.... that I can keep them together until they are 12 weeks old.... then separate cages.... You should be able to sex them at / by 4 weeks - maybe earlier....maybe 3 wks..... Pam also does NOT tattoo her babies - or mark them with a pen... she only tattoo the ones that she’s keeping for herself....now, as I look at the weight chart, I realize Spencer is significantly under weight for his size, and my biggest buck, Money, isn’t really THAT big at 13lb. 8 oz.</richText>
