My first Flemish that I have taken to shows, came home with a leg!!  Eartha has that calm Gentle Giant personality that you come to appreciate with these big creatures.  She is loving and kind, very curious and she squeaks in concern and never honks or shows any sign of aggression, ever.  She has earned my trust and admiration.

Eartha got back up to weight  (13.04) and so I bred her again, but I will never let her try to nurse 12 kits again, and I will thank her for this lesson to never let any mother do this-- as it was terrible to watch her shrivel to near nothing, and certainly not worth it.

Her recent litter was just 3-- how sweet, and she seems fine.

The current litter at 35 days, is 2 blacks and a blue, all have bluish eyes, so I guess the blacks carry the steel allele, which means Eartha does. She does have white hairs, but no spots, and she did win a leg.

I may breed her again, with Beauty, in April, 2011.  This combination may give me the size, color and disposition that I want.
