PJ’s Money Bunny

Na’Ua named Money Bunny-- we have loved him since day one.  He’s a very nice rabbit and he got sore hocks, and that is the only reason I took Eartha to the show and not him, and I did not know that long toenails can cause this.  I build him a huge new house with a solid wood floor to get him off the wire, and a slated area for those hot summer days and he is smart and goes potty there, where it can fall through, and I’ve been putting diluted vanodine and bag balm on his sores and struggling and struggling to clear up the sore hocks but neglecting to trim his nails once month.  I read about this causal relationship on a 4H flash card intended for children.  You can bet his nails are trimmed now.

Actually, I have found that sore hocks can be genetic-- which means I need to find another big man rabbits to head my herd.

Money continues to grow and weighed 14.04 on the November 15 weigh-in 2010, but his sore hocks are barely getting better.  We are keeping hay or straw, which ever we can find, in the floor of his hutch and then changing it out every other day, making plenty compost :)
