Appalachian Rain Sustainable Industries

At the headwaters of Big Creek, pouring into the Elk River near Clendenin, West Virginia, on six mostly wooded acres of S-SW facing slopes, I started raising English Angoras with the hope of providing warmth and a sustainable lifestyle for myself and my family, and a cottage industry for my community.  The idea is to enrich our lives, the soil of the Earth, and to encourage spinning, weaving, knitting and design while providing a warm, rich, luxurious natural material with which to work.

With humble beginnings and many struggles, and a very sharp and painful learning curve, I still look toward a cute boutique and working with lovely people from the region, furnishing organic, handcrafted,

natural goods to many surface dwellers on the planet who are facing the Post Peak Oil  transition to Clean Green with warm socks, scarves, hats, mittens, sweaters, blankets (oh my!) and cozies...

fearless of the lights going out.

I like to think that Appalachia is Rising, and I want to be my part of the New Green Advance.  My rabbits drink spring water and rain water.
