Anne and I went to the Houston Greek Festival today.  (Actually, we went last night as well, but we were not allowed in with Zoe and Kaylee.)  It was pretty small, but Anne got “the best gyro” she’s ever had, which is saying something considering some of the places she has had gyros - including Greece.

We only stayed about an hour, but it was nice to participate in some local events.  Recently we’ve started going to a local farmer’s market on the weekends and we also went to the Japan festival this year.  We’re trying to get more out of living in Houston - perhaps in preparation for the day when we may actually leave and won’t be able to do these things.

To this end, Anne has planned a vacation (with the dogs) in Fredricksburg for Memorial Day weekend.

“Traditional Greek dancing.”   Hmm, I wonder if these would be traditional costumes if the dancing were to take place in mid-90 degree temperatures, which is how hot it was at Houston’s Greek Festival.
