Today our senses are stimulated by much more than just sound alone. Our senses are
stimulated with both sight & sound and this concept has carried over into the world of DJing.
We call it Vjing. Aren’t we clever...

Quite simply, it’s music videos. You hear “Billie Jean”, you see the “Billie Jean” video.
You’ve seen MTV, VH1 and every other offspring. Music videos have been around for a
long time. We’ve just incorporated our concept of beat mixing into the wild world of the
video.

Beat-mixing. This is an important point. MBP DJ/VJ’s all pride themselves in it. It’s the way
we move from one song to another with no noticeable change. You just “find” yourself in a new song. It really helps
keep a dance floor full. It’s really cool to see the videos change in the same manner.

The monitors are hung onto a set of very cool horizontal, free standing trusses. They sit just inside
the speakers. The monitors are 42” LCD with black trim. (The monitors shown in the photo above have been upgraded.) MBP always makes sure to use nothing but the best and we like to make sure they arrive to every event well protected. All of our gear is transported in professional road cases to take the abuse of the Michigan roads. It also preserves the class and beauty of the party that you’ve planned and decorated articulately. That said, be rest assured that this set up will not be obtrusive or over bearing.

Bring back the old afros and high platform shoes! MBP has videos from the 60’s to now. I mean right now! We usually get the videos before radio even starts playing the song in rotation.

We can play ANY media. Instead of everyone watching you dance in a circle for three or four minutes, how about a photo montage that accompanies the dance. Imagine paying tribute to the wedding party with tons of photos of them during the wedding party dance. How about you and your family growing up during the daddy/daughter and mother/son dances. Use it how you like. It’s there to add something rarely seen in Metro Detroit weddings.

Now that MBP has made the first move into the VJ arena in Metro Detroit, the demand is high. Our VJ’s play videos all week at various night clubs including the new Tin Fish Partridge Creek. It’s not something that everyone can do well. Our VJ’s have been mixing these since 2007. We’re already two years ahead of every other mobile entertainment company here in our area. It’s important to recognize that this can not be done correctly with two DVD players and a mixer. It’s way more than that.

That’s a pretty solid run down on VJing. Contact the office for a price quote on the next level of wedding entertainment.

Related Links:

VJ 2nd Nature Mtv Youtube hulu vimeo facebook VJ Wes Nobles VJ Brian Howe

This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Music Box Productions is one of the very best DJ entertainment and video production companies not only in Michigan but in the entire United States and Canada.

Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.

“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”

MBP would like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!

Look at everything, for what you see, be grateful for. Some of the things in life we take for granted. Most of which we don't appreciate until they're gone. If you feel like the world is coming down around you because a boy didn't notice you, you had a real crummy day at work, or the guy at the check out was a jerk, that's kind of greedy. Some people really feel heart broken, and could use a little, lift up. On the date of February 4th, 2009, I was taken by this. My little girl, (Sasha, my dog,) died due to old age. Well, now that she is gone, everywhere I look, i see her sitting there, looking at me saying it's going to be OK. I know that she will be OK, but I feel like the world is coming to an end. Thankfully, I have family, and friends around to lift me up, and brush me off. I never really saw how much I loved Sasha, until she died.

Now, take another look around. Think about how lucky you are, and look at things differently.

Please, be grateful.

Love and more love,
xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Lauren
A few weeks ago, I made a blog post regarding the holidays. The day following my post, I answered my business phone and heard, “Thank you for your post A Holiday Wish”. “What do you mean” I asked. My friend Randy Smith said he enjoyed my post and that he shared in my wishes for people to see their glass 1/2 full verses 1/2 empty. Randy furthered to say that he tries to live each day that way and that he is thankful for the wonderful life he has. This explains why Randy always has a warm smile on his face when ever and where ever I see him. Randy & I chatted for about 15 minutes and then we returned to our work day.

For the rest of the day, I could hear Randy’s words in the back of my head and it made me smile throughout the day. It was because Randy took the time to not only read my post but give my words thoughtful consideration. He made me feel as though what I had written was important. In short, Randy Smith’s brief, 15 minute phone call genuinely made my day. It was so small yet so big to me.

When was the last time someone or something made your day? Something so cool happened to you that your wore a goofy, unexplainable smile that couldn’t be removed no matter what crossed your path. A unexpected good deed renders you into a state of mind that nothing can hinder and inspires you to share your infectious mood.

Making someone’s day can come in a host of ways;
It could be as simple as a random card or an out of the blue phone call from a friend. Someone anonymously cleared the snow off of your car or a friend brought by homemade soup because you were sick. Maybe the boss told you what a great asset you are to the company or a customer contacted your manager praising your outstanding performance. Perhaps your day was made by some extravagant act of good will: someone lent you money when you needed it the most or found and returned your missing dog to you (no reward expected).

Today I would like to extend a little motivation for you to share these kind of “Made My Day” stories, a contest of sorts. From January 1st thru April 1st every post of awesome goodness shared on this blog page will be voted upon by our readers and a winning story writer and the good deed doer each will receive a $50 gift certificate to a restaurant of their choice. Pretty simple and hopefully a little fun.

Kimberly

From his Harvard dorm room, Mark introduced to Harvard students this new networking vehicle and within 2 weeks, every student had signed up! Four months later, the demand for this social utility was so great that 30 other colleges were added to the network. Today, almost 5 years later, there are over 130 million users and growing rapidly each day.

The purpose of this post is not to provide you with the history of Facebook but rather it’s popularity and momentum. For a detailed background of this company ant it’s visionaries, visit the Facebook Press Room. Additionally, being one of the hottest websites in the world, you can find tons of info. via google, yahoo, cnn, etc.

The reality of the Facebook phenomena is astounding to me! It’s not just about 130 million plus users ranging from 20 years old to senior citizens (there’s even a group you can join called “My Grandma is on Facebook”).
Superstars, Pop Star, Foreign Dignitaries, Premiers, International leaders, our President Elect. The magnitude of how many people you connect with is unbelievable. However, not every one may want to connect with you, I’m still waiting for Simon Cowel, Julia Roberts and George Clooney to “accept my friend request”. Ben Harper however, did accept my husband’s friend request!

Beyond the ability to locate and contact just about anyone, with just the click of your mouse you can:
save the rain forest, stop cruelty to animals, host a fundraiser, support breast cancer awareness, make a political stand or just share idle chatter with your friends while you’re awake at 2am. But wait, there’s more, in addition to connecting with who ever you want and publicly endorsing your thoughts and beliefs you can also: throw a snowball at your friends, own a farm, kidnap a friend, send someone a “piece of Detroit”, a hug, a gift, a fish, a piece of flair and even a drink. You might want to: Poke someone, be poked by someone, put an ornament on a Christmas tree or “Twitter” from your cell phone to your Facebook account. There are over 52,000 applications for the Facebook platform and 140 new ones introduced every day!

So if you don’t have a Facebook profile, you may want to consider doing so and see what the big deal is. It’s easy, it’s free and it’s one of the best ways ever to communicate, inform, educate, update, support, play, be entertained, advertise or rally for a cause with a few key strokes.

Do you have a Facebook page? What’s your favorite application? What’s your biggest Facebook frustration?
What do you like most about Facebook?
Let me know your thoughts,
Kimberly Burnette

“Oh, by the way, if you are a Facebook user, please become a “FAN” of Music Box Productions, Inc.” Thanks :)
