Paul Emile

Bass Guitar, Vocals, percussion, keyboards and composition.

I first met Herbie Flowers in 1982 and began working as an in-house musician and technician at his Magic Studio’s in London. This was the beginning of my mentorship which continues to present day. As one of his technicians I contributed to several albums recorded at Magic, giving me the opportunity to work on sessions with; Sky, Paul McCartney & George Martin, John Williams, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Symphony Orchestra and Mike Batt.

It was at Magic in 1987, that I met Gasper Lawal (a Nigerian master percussionist) who asked me to join his band. I went on to record three albums and tour with some of the cream of African and world musicians such as; Papa Wemba, Kanda “bongo” Man, Peter Gabriel and King Sunni Ade.

In 1996 I joined Chris Jagger's Atcha Band.  We have toured extensively and just completed his forth album, Act of Faith a 2006 release. As part of Chris’s band I have had the opportunity to play and record with many artists, including; Mick Jagger, Michael Kamen, Bob Geldof, David Gilmore and Sam Brown.

In addition I have written and collaborated with band members and contributors to the following bands; Blur, Jamiroquai, Eddy Grant, Gabrielle, Aswad and Faithless.

Additional Information:

In 2004 I successfully completed N.V.Q level 3 in Promoting Independence.  In addition to this I completed the following training;

First Aid

SKIP (Strategies and Planned Interventions)

SRE (Sexual Relationship Education)

Autism specific training

I continue to collaborate on my own projects, including writing, composing and performing with a collective of artists.

I met Paul Emile in 1993 as a participant at a Rockshop in a Canterbury, based at Kent University.  Paul was one of the tutors mentoring young musicians and I was one of the young musicians!   Three years later I joined the Rockshop as a tutor and developed a working relationship with Paul Emile.   Five years ago I joined Chris Jagger’s band and have toured through out Europe and Britain. I also produced Chris Jaggers ‘Act of Faith’ Album.

In 2005 I completed a BA Hons in Music Production.

I have developed and recorded local bands and musicians, culminating in several releases. I continue to collaborate on my own projects and performing with a variety of artists across the country.
