Identity
from Christopher Tully
CBL topic: Identity - Every year students are asked to develop short-term and long-term goals. Students start with a career assessment and interest survey as well as complete a research project on their career interest. Throughout the year the students are introduced to CBL and their final project is to create a multimedia presentation about who they were, who they have become, and who they want to be.
“Your challenge is to find your individual identity and create a portfolio for success. There is no prescribed path to finding a solution. I will provide guidance when needed, but the goal is to determine the best means of presenting your portfolio.”
This one project specifically will continue for the next two years as they continue to develop their skills and knowledge completing many other CBL projects. They reflect and journal everyday as they build their personal portfolio. In summary, at the completion of the program, the students understand who they are, the skills and knowledge they have acquired, how to manage themselves both academically and professionally, but most importantly they understand what they need to do to be successful.
