The Sahbandu Children’s Home is located in Wanduramba, just outside of Galle and is home to 17 boys, a matron, 3 staff and 4 dogs. Sahbandu is operated by the YMBA (B stands for Buddhist.) The Ayesha foundation signed a memorandum of understanding to provide support for Sahabandu and has completed a number of major renovations. The foundation also provides tutors for the kids to assist with their school studies, as well as supplemental funding for staff salaries, supplies and annual field trips.
