Merry Christmas to all! We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Our family has enjoyed a VERY busy Christmas season. But through all of our activities we tried our best to remember the reason for the season. It has been so much fun getting to see the Nativity Story through the eyes of Lola-Reese and Jagger. The innocence of their thoughts is so refreshing during all the crazy shopping, decorating, cooking, partying and whatever holds your time this month.
We have enjoyed some traditions this season. We made a gingerbread house, but it took us two kits, Jagger cracked the first kit and Brent and I thought we could just “glue” it with icing. Didn’t work out so much. We have enjoyed reading our favorite Christmas books. Watched several Christmas movies and have drove around the neighborhood looking at the lights. We have one new tradition, Elf on the Shelf. The kids love getting up to see where “Frenny the friendly elf” is hiding. Another new happening in our schedule was our church’s children’s choir/pageant. Lola-Reese is in the angel choir and she LOVES to be on stage like her daddy.
Brent and I want to wish all of our friends and family a wonderful Christmas. We are so thankful for all the many blessings God has given our family this year.

Merry Christmas,
Brent, Kirsten, Lola-Reese & Jagger

Frenny the Efl has moved in! We bought this “Elf on the Shelf” the day after Thanksgiving and we LOVE it. I am a huge lover of traditions, Brent happily joins in. I had wanted to get this last year but never got around to it. Lola-Reese named him “Frenny the friendly elf”. Love it! So the story goes, every night Frenny flies home to the North Pole and reports to Santa if Jagger and Lola-Reese were good or bad that day and then he flies back to our house and lands in a different spot every morning. They love to come downstairs to see where Frenny might be hiding. We just have to remember to put him in a different spot every night before we go to bed. Brent or I will catch Lola-Reese talking to Frenny telling him what she wants for Christmas so he will tell Santa. We have had to eaves drop some :-)

And of course, we had to make our Gingerbread house this year. As you can see our first try didn’t pan out so well. While it was crumbling, Brent and I were laughing and then Lola-Reese started to cry, and Jagger is just eating the candy off of it. So I hop in the car to run to the store to buy another kit. Our second try ended so much better.

I have no idea who reads this but for those of you who are out there just waiting on pins and needles to see what the Moxey family is up to here it is. :-) It has been two months of pure non stop fun. Lola-Reese is really enjoying her 4 year old pre-school. Jagger celebrated his 2nd birthday at the park with friends and family. Let’s just say Brent and I are amazed at how fast the past 2 years have gone by. We are so thankful that he is healthy and he has had NO MORE seizures. Keep praying they stay away. Brent and I got to go out to see a well known group...NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK! They’ve got the right stuff. Let me just say, it was probably one of the most fun concerts we have been to. (we have been to a lot). It was packed out with 98% women my age and the rest of the 2% were loving husbands/boyfriends. They even made some of the men’s bathrooms into women’s bathrooms. Halloween came and went, we had a cheerleader and Dumbo. and Brent had several costume changes throughout the night. Last weekend we celebrated Lola-Reese’s 5th birthday with a party for her friends. We had 14 little girls running around here at the house (it was a packed house). We had some farm animals come to the house, the kids enjoyed getting to feed the goats, pet the rabbits and then ride the pony. I don’t think she ever stopped smiling the whole night. Brent is still loving his new role/job at Children’s Pastor at West Ridge Church. WE are loving getting to see him a whole lot more. God is good. We are in the middle of putting on a Christmas Pageant at the church with 165 kids involved. Had no idea it would be that big, but like I said God is good :-) tomorrow is Lola-Reese’s official birthday. the big 5! amazing. Brent is taking the day off, we are taking her to get her nails painted, maybe to a little chuck e. cheese and then to ice cream after dinner. maybe throw in there some presents and we will call it a day. Promise I won’t let it take this long to catch up again. Happy Thanksgiving.!

We had a blast. We rented a little 2 bedroom cabin in the mountains and just enjoyed each other. While Brent was working, I took the kids downtown to walk around and look at the sites. Those of you who have been there, you know what I mean when I say “sites”. There is anything from a GIANT King Kong to Herbie the Love Bug. The kids loved it. We got to go to the Aquarium which is SO AWESOME. It is nice and big but not over crowded like ours here in Atlanta. We even rode the sky lift (Lola-Reese’s idea). Brent had one kid and I had the other and we were holding onto them with a death grip. There are NO seat belts on those things. But at the top it was worth it, so pretty. We just felt blessed to be able to spend some quality family time together. I am blessed.

This is her last year of pre-school before the dreaded kindergarten (on my part def. not on hers). She is so excited her teacher’s name is Ms. Sandy, which is her Gamma’s name. We will never forget that one. All morning long she was so excited to be going. She kept asking Jagger “are you going to miss me?” He dutifully kept nodding his head up and down. Brent went into work late so he could be part of the “drop off”. We walked her in and stopped by her door. No tears no hesitation, just “bye mommy and daddy, see you later”. I guess I would rather have it that way than have a child clinging to my leg crying. Jagger and I went to go pick her up and when she saw Jagger she screamed “Jagger, I missed you!” they ended their reunion with a big bear hug. I got nothing! I guess it is a good thing that they love each other. Last night after dinner we took her to get some ice cream to celebrate her first day. As you can see it was really enjoyed. We are so proud of our sweet big girl! What a blessing she is to us.

I just came across the picture again today and it is just too cute to not share. This is from our Fourth of July beach trip down to Venice, FL. Lola-Reese had seen a pink Barbie fishing rod in a store while we were shopping and she just had to have it! Well, Brent is just a softy (well, I am too) and so she came home with it. When Granddad saw it he just had to take her fishing. For all of those who don’t know, Venice is where I grew up vacationing and with that fishing. All of us kids LOVED to get up early in the morning with dad and head down to the jetty and we would spend a couple of hours fishing. We would come home to mom’s home cooked breakfast. So for Lola-Reese to be fishing kinda brought tears to my eyes. She was so excited to catch a “whopper fish”. Lo and behold through many prayers going up to help her catch something, she caught 4 fish! She was SO excited to reel them in. She was kinda disturbed to see the hole in the fish’s mouth but my dad reassured her that they would be fine. The best part of the day was when she looked over at Uncle Frank (he was fishing but not having any luck) and she said “It isn’t working out too well for you over there huh Uncle Frank?” Oh he was so surprised he didn’t know what to say. Dad and I got a good laugh.

We had a great flight, the kids enjoyed everything about the airport. The train, the moving sidewalk, even the security checkpoint (taking off their shoes was the highlight!). I do have to tell a story...we were about to get in line to go through security and Lola-Reese saw an uniformed soldier. She asked if she could go tell him something, of course I said yes. Brent and I watched as she walked over to the gentleman, she said “excuse me sir” he turned around and looked down at her. My sweet daughter then said “thank you sir for keeping us safe”. The soldier knelt down on his knees and with tears in his eyes he said “you are welcome”. Everyone around who witnessed this had tears in their eyes. It was one of those proud parent moments. Brent and I just looked at each other and smiled. We have always wanted to instill in our kids the importance of thanking our service men whether they be police, fireman, or soldiers.

Also, I wanted to add some pictures of Lola-Reese from this past week. She and her friend Avery did a cheer camp at a local high school. She LOVED it! The cheerleader in me was so proud. She LOVED the dance part, she even got the counting down, oh it was so cute!

I have just recently gotten a hair cut and I was asking “my guy” Zach about what I should do with Jagger’s hair. First of all, boys hair is SO MUCH MORE DIFFICULT than girls. With Lola-Reese we just let hers grow, but we actually have to think about Jagger’s. So, Zach told me to just bring him in. I was so excited all weekend because Jagger was going to get a cool man hair cut. The minute we walk in (music blaring and lots of people - not a good combo for little kids) Jagger starts to fuss. Oh the joys of parenthood. So it ended up with me in a cape and Jagger on my lap. He did okay but once I stopped shoving food down his throat he started to get antsy. Brent and I love his “do” and we will definitely bring him back there (even if it is kinda crazy).
Then we had decided to get Jagger a new stuffed animal. He has been loving on some of Lola-Reese’s so we thought while we were at the mall we could go into Build-A-Bear and get him one. We had worked with Lola-Reese telling her that she wasn’t going to get a new animal (she had just gotten 2 new toys this weekend) but that this was Jagger’s time to get something new. She was fine until she saw it...a purple sparkly bear! Oh, she grabbed it and she kept saying “I wish I could have her” when she realized that we weren’t giving in, she had a melt down. Now Lola-Reese’s melt downs just consist of crying, lots and lots of crying. She NEVER stops! So as she is crying we are trying to enjoy Jagger and his making of “Bear Bear”. When we were done, of course Jagger didn’t want to leave the store so Brent and I left the mall with two wailing kids. I am so glad to say that is only happens like a couple times a year, but oh man when it does you just look at each other and ask “Where are our kids?” I don’t think we will be going to the mall any time soon :-)

It has been a long time since I have posted anything. Keep checking back, because I have a lot to share! This summer, we have been blessed to be able to re-connect with several friends we have had for many years. The Mannings, from Manhattan came down with prior engagements but made time for us Moxey’s. They drove all the way to downtown Acworth and we had a yummy dinner at a cute Italian place. We had such a nice time getting catch up and believe me we had many laughs. Mike is a true and true New Yorker! Oh, what stories! Mike and Linda took Brent and I under their wings when we lived in Manhattan. I guess they really liked us because they invited us one weekend to their Hamptons house. That is still one of my most memorable weekends! I know we don’t get to see them very often, but we are still very thankful for their friendship. And on a side note, I think Lola-Reese fell in love with their teenage son, Tyler!!! Easy to do, he was SO sweet to her. She still asks me if I remember her friend Tyler. How sweet! We love you guys!

Okay another set of long lost friends...Nate and his fiance Allison! Okay, maybe not long lost but def. long time no see! As you can see in the pictures, Jagger LOVED Nate! He just wanted to keep giving Nate kisses, he was a good sport about it. And Allison it nice to finally get to meet her. She definitely “gets” Nate. If you know Nate, you know what I am talking about :-).

That would be my husband! Headset on (heaven forbid him from holding the phone, EVER), with the fly swatter and wait...what is that, yep that is roach spray. Hum, I know this one has you wondering. Well he couldn’t find any wasp killer so he thought roach killer would work on those pesky wasps that seem to always find their way to our kids water table. Well I don’t think it actually worked, hence the fly swatter. That didn’t really work either so he just took a towel and started running after them. The kids thought it was great, have no idea what our neighbors thought though :-)

We have so enjoyed playing outside. Even though our neighborhood has multiple pools we choose to have our blow up pool outside. I guess kids love swimming with grass and random bugs :-). And the water table is a HIT. Papa and DeDe got it for the kids last summer and we have definitely gotten their money’s worth. Lola-Reese had a great idea of adding bubble bath to the water table. They loved that! hey good way to get them clean, ha ha.
