Ceramic Artist
Exchange

Members of the Korean Wood Fire Association in Gyeongju are looking for qualified English speaking ceramic artists to host member of their association.  The interested members are highly trained and skilled professional potters who want to develop better skills in English and learn how potters work in other countries. They range in age from 30 to 45.  This is an important ceramic artist’s association and includes several Human Cultural Treasures in its membership.

Essentially the Korean ceramic artist would work for the ceramic artist in an English speaking country for a month or two.  In exchange the host ceramic artist would designate a ceramic artist to go to Korea and work there as a guest for a similar period of time.  Of course the host artist could designate themselves.  Other details would be arranged between the artists.  We are helping to make the contacts.

Several Korean ceramic artists such as the Human Cultural Treasure Park Byung Teak and the tea bowl master Park Jong Il have agreed to host the visiting artist in Korea for a similar period of time.

To assure some quality, ceramic artists who wish to take part in the exchange must submit photos of their work or have a web site with their work on display and a resume.  These would be exchanged prior to a mutual agreement between the two parties.

Applications will be exchanged through us, Morning Earth, but we have nothing to do with the final selection.

Please let us know if you are interested or would like more information.  Contact us at: MorningEarth@sbcglobal.net.
