Requirements to Teach English in Korea
Requirements to Teach English in Korea
Requirements
To begin your application and screening process, please send us by the following by e-mail. Hard copies will be sent later.
1. A current complete resume
2. A completed application form
3. A passport like-photo of yourself
4. A scanned copy of your diploma or a letter from your university verifying your graduation. At this point these can be e-mailed.
Note: More official verification of your graduation and other official documents will be required after your acceptance into our program and before placement.
The four items above are all standard requirements to teach in Korea. Please don’t be offended by our asking for your photograph. A photo is a requirement for all resumes in Korea.
Once your application is accepted and your qualifications reviewed, you will be contacted by e-mail with additional information. We will send you an orientation e-mail explaining additional procedures leading to teaching in Korea and the various teaching options in Korea as well as what to expect. This will also be your opportunity to ask us questions and to express any preferences for schools or concerns you may have about teaching in Korea.
When all documents are received and initial orientation completed, an appointment will be scheduled to interview you either in person, if we have an interviewer in your area, by phone or on SKYPE.
After your successful interview we will recommend you to the schools that fit your requirements. You may be of interest to more than one school. Once you are accepted by a school you will receive a contract(s) for your review and we will answer all your questions. Once you have approved the school, we will schedule an informal interview between you and the school. That interview may also take place on SKYPE or by phone.
The school simply wants to get to know you better before they sign the contract. Usually the school interview is a formality since they would not spend the time to interview you if they did not approve your credentials and our recommendation. This interview leads to an agreement between you and the school and the contract is signed. It also leads to the next stage - obtaining an E-2 visa to work in Korea. We will help you at every step of that process and do much of the work for you. That is a service that many other companies cannot provide.
Why use us to help you?
When you work with our company, we work with you before, during and (at your option) even after your experience in Korea. Our goal is that every teacher we place has a wonderful teaching experience and comes back from it proud of what they have accomplished. We also hope that each of our placements returns understanding the beautiful arts and culture that they found in Korea.
Please contact us to discuss this opportunity and how we can help you obtain your goal of teaching English to Koreans. There is no obligation.
